The athlete was involved in a car accident near Lagos on the 29th of December, a horrific crash that took the lives of two of his valued colleagues. Under Observation for Minor Injuries The boxer had been under observation while healing from his light wounds, his promoter stated earlier on Monday. The commissioner for information and strategy, Gbenga Omotoso, said in a statement on X that Joshua was judged healthy enough to “recuperate at home”. “Anthony and his mother were at the funeral home in Lagos this afternoon to pay their final respects to his two departed friends as they were being prepared for repatriation,” the commissioner stated. Remembering the Victims The two men who died were named as Latif Ayodele, a personal trainer, and Sina Ghami, a conditioning specialist. Omotoso added that the champion was filled with sorrow and overcome with emotion over the loss of his two trusted companions.” His release from the hospital follows the boxing community shared condolences for the champion in the aftermath of the terrible crash.
